International nursing practicums advance transcultural nursing practice and assist the students to deliver culturally sensitive care to individuals and families. Teaching and learning experiences occurred in partner educational facilities, hospitals and communities in the host country. This sparked a collaborative exchange of ideas and activities. Presenters will discuss the logistics, challenges and benefits of the international practicum. Teaching strategies that guide nursing practice in diverse and challenging health care settings will be presented. Global health issues transcend cultural, political, social and language differences making international nursing practicums an ideal educational experience.
