This practice focus paper describes a model of practice which creates a supportive accessible learning community with time and space for authentic relationships which enhance teaching and learning opportunities for staff and students. Through the recognition of heart and empathy the relationship building enables and promotes the safe opening of minds; which provides benefits for all in that learning community.

Coral is currently working with University preservice teachers using innovative effective teaching and learning strategies that are learner centred and inquiry based. Coral has worked extensively on creating inclusive multimodal teaching and learning that creates engagement, retention and improved outcomes for staff and students.
